El Husseini: About the divine laws and the Children of Israel
The Holy Quran has discussed the multi-faceted dimensions of existence and life. And as the Quran created rules and laws for the universe and nature, it has determined strict regulations for the whole life and for the human societies that must be taken seriously because such rules are formed for humanity as divine rules. Therefore, we are asked to study and comprehend the essence of such regulations through the ultimate ways and tools in order to know God as well as the divine abilities, qualities and actions. This knowledge is the shortest road to God Almighty. It represents the most powerful indications that rise out of people in the civil and social life, as a guide for them to the ways of sublimation, and it leads to happiness and strength through believing and self-confidence.
There are a lot of these rules and customs that have been addressed by the Holy Quran, and which provide a platform for mankind in order to move in its lighting and enlightenment. Such rules represent the foundations of a guide for all human kind as a social actor. The sanctions in these rules embedded the harshest penalty for anyone which is the exclusion from the social system. This indicates that the social rules have the strongest and the most lasting impact on the human beings. As an example, the Holy Quran discussed the life of many ancient nations in its verses but the holy book focused mainly on the children of Israel-Israel is the prophet of God of Jacob, son of Isaac the son of Abraham (may God bless all of them), who have faced various forms of torment and suffering such as hunger, fear, terror, being chased, and denials. Although the sons of Israel have lived through many forms of injustice, tyranny and terrorism of the Pharaoh, they have been patient and endured people till they have overcome the ordeal. Moreover, they have received the divine grace and achieved the victory through the Prophet Moses, as it is mentioned in the Holy Quran.
Suffering and exceptional circumstances that hurt the children of Israel and the horrors they have faced, all have been stated by the Holy Quran in many places. The holy book of Muslims has warned also about the advice given by Moses " May God bless him" to the children of Israel when talking to them as stated in the Quran “Moses said to his people Seek help in Allah and be patient”, and his people has taken by his advice and they asked the help of God and they have been patient. Therefore, the God Almighty rewarded them with good deeds “and the word of God has been implemented with the children of Israel as a result of their patience” as Quran said. Based on what is mentioned before, it is important to draw inspiration and lessons from the epic patience with the children of Israel when they have followed their prophet according to the divine laws. As a result, they won and tasted the sweetness of the fruits of the positive patience over adversity and survived from injustice and tyranny of Pharaoh.
The most important lesson that can be learned from the story of the children of Israel is that God grants victory to the oppressed and stands by them against the oppressors. However, this victory is linked to the preparations from the part of the oppressed to receive divine victory such as the positive preparations is to wait positively the victory with patience while keeping the flame of hope in the depths of the soul. This faith paves the way for the divine saving and victory over the oppressors as it was said in the verses of Quran “and we want to support the ones who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors”.
The divine rules are imposed on his creation since ever, and it was confirmed by the dignified verse: “they shall perceived the customs of the previous ones and they shall find no other ways but the ways of Allah and you will not find a conversion of Allah regulations.”
